History Of Cross Stitch

History of cross stitch looks back to the beginnings of embroidery. The earliest recorded example of a cross stitch   that was completely done was a design in upright crosses.

The ceiling of the Sistine chapel, which was formerly done by Michaelangelo, is now recreated by a Canadian needlework using simple cross stitch. Michaelangelo fiinished the original fresco in Vatican City Chapel in Rome for a length of four years. It took Joanna Roberts to do the job in eight years.
