This year’s Sheep And Wool Festival will be made extra special since 2009 has been proclaimed as “International Year of Natural Fibre”. this proclamation has been given by the UN.

Trivia question on whether Shahtoosh wool is the most expensive wool in the world or not. Some say it’s true, that it is the most expensive wool since it’s an endangered specie considering that there are only about 300 left in India.

The 17th Annual Bisbee Fiber Arts Festival was held last May. May being the most suitable time to shear sheep since there were few events to compete with on this month. A wool as well as a cashmere can provide an innate insulation. A pure cashmere blanket made from 100% pure cashmere would be very soft, but very expensive too. So in order to have a more affordable one, there are some balnkets where cashmere is blended with some other wool fibers.
